GIRO · Legal

Terms of Use

The deal between you and GIRO, in plain words. The most important part comes first: drive safe and obey the law.

Effective October 2, 2026 · Evoris Group Inc.

The short version

  • Drive safe. Obey traffic laws and speed limits. Never race on public roads. GIRO never rewards speeding, and no score is worth chasing on a public road.
  • Eyes on the road. Don't use your phone while driving unless it's hands-free and your local law allows it.
  • GIRO is not a safety device. Maps, directions and hazard reports can be wrong. Trust the road and the signs over the app.
  • Be decent. No harassment, no hate, no illegal stuff, nothing that puts anyone in danger.
  • Your content stays yours. You give us permission to show it in GIRO.
  • GIRO is still being tested. Expect bugs and changes.

1 · Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Evoris Group Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada ("GIRO", "we", "us"). They cover the GIRO app, drivegiro.com, the GIRO shop and everything else we offer under the GIRO name. By creating an account or using GIRO, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree, please don't use GIRO.

2 · Drive safe — the rule above all

GIRO is made for people who love driving. It is never an invitation to drive dangerously. When you use GIRO, you agree that:

  • You obey every traffic law and every speed limit, wherever you drive.
  • You never street race, stunt drive or speed on public roads, and you never use GIRO (a route, a convoy, a meet, the GRID or anything else) to organize, promote, film or brag about it. Racing belongs on a closed track with permission.
  • You don't handle your phone while driving. Set things up before you leave, use it hands-free only where your local law allows, or hand it to a passenger.
  • You drive for the conditions (weather, traffic, the road, your vehicle and your own condition), and never impaired or distracted.
  • You respect people and property: no blocking roads, no takeovers, no trespassing, no noise or burnouts where they put people at risk or break local rules.
  • You are always responsible for how you drive. Not GIRO, not a convoy leader, not a club.

GIRO never rewards or encourages speeding or racing on public roads. Points, levels, titles, trophies and leaderboards are about using GIRO, not about going fast. Never chase a score, a rank or a leaderboard place on a public road. If we believe someone is driving unsafely, we may remove their scores, points and leaderboard places, remove content, end convoys or events, and suspend or close their account, and we may report it to the authorities if someone is in danger.

3 · GIRO is not a safety device

  • Maps, place search, directions, travel times, speed-limit or traffic information, and hazard reports come from other drivers and outside providers. They can be wrong, late or missing. Always follow the road, the signs, the signals and the police over the app.
  • Live locations, "last seen" times and convoy positions may be delayed or inaccurate. Never rely on GIRO to know where someone is in an emergency, or to keep anyone safe.
  • In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number). GIRO does not contact emergency services.

4 · Your account

  • Age: GIRO is for people 16 and older. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they accept these terms for you. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.
  • One person per account. Give true information, and don't pretend to be someone else.
  • Your @handle is yours to use but not to sell. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone or infringes a trademark.
  • Keep your password and messages PIN secret. Your password is the key to your messages. If you lose your password, your email and every signed-in phone at once, your old messages can't be recovered, by you or by us.
  • You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us right away at contact@drivegiro.com if you think someone else got in.
  • You can deactivate your account at any time, or delete it. Deleting hides it straight away and removes it for good after 30 days. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what goes and what stays.

5 · Community rules

Don't use GIRO to post, send or do anything that:

  • promotes, organizes or shows street racing, stunt driving, speeding, impaired driving or any other dangerous or illegal driving (section 2);
  • harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks or intimidates anyone, including tracking or following someone who doesn't want it;
  • shares someone else's location, home, plate number, VIN or other private information without their permission;
  • is hateful or discriminatory, sexually explicit, or sexualizes minors in any way;
  • is violent or gory, or encourages self-harm;
  • is illegal, or helps someone break the law (including selling stolen parts or vehicles, or evading police);
  • infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • is spam, a scam, misleading advertising, or fake engagement;
  • impersonates a person, club or business, or misrepresents your connection to one;
  • adds a Spot at a private home or a place you have no right to point people to, or files false hazard reports;
  • tries to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or get around GIRO's security, privacy rules or limits, or uses bots or fake accounts.

6 · Your content

  • You own what you post: photos, videos, posts, stories, comments, routes, Spots and ride details.
  • To run GIRO, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize or crop) and share your content inside GIRO, with the audience you chose. That includes showing public content on drivegiro.com pages (like a public route, Spot, ride or event). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where these terms or our Privacy Policy say something stays (for example, posts in a club, or reports).
  • We will never use your content in GIRO advertising outside the app without asking you first.
  • Only post content you have the right to post, and only post people who are fine being in it.
  • Your messages are end-to-end encrypted, and we can't read them. You're still responsible for what you send.

7 · Clubs, crews, events, meets and convoys

  • Clubs, crews, events, meets and convoys are created and run by users, not by GIRO, unless we clearly say so. Their organizers set their own rules on top of these terms, but can't override these terms.
  • Organizers are responsible for their events: having permission to use the place, following local rules and bylaws, and keeping things safe and legal. GIRO is not the organizer, host or insurer of any meet or drive.
  • A convoy is a group of drivers sharing locations, not a race and not a formation to keep at all costs. Every driver drives their own car by the rules of the road.
  • You join any event, meet or convoy at your own risk, and you're responsible for yourself and your vehicle.

8 · Rides and VINs

  • Only add a VIN for a vehicle you own or have the right to represent. Only send verification documents that are genuine and yours to share.
  • One VIN can belong to only one ride on GIRO. If someone proves ownership of a car on a VIN, that car's facts move to them, as the Privacy Policy explains.
  • Verification means an Evoris admin looked at the photos you sent. It is not a guarantee of a vehicle's history, condition, title or ownership. Don't rely on it to buy or sell a vehicle.

9 · The GRID

  • GRID points, levels, titles and trophies measure how you use GIRO. They have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, traded or transferred, and aren't giveaway entries.
  • We may change how points are earned, fix mistakes, and remove points earned by cheating (for example, faked locations, puppet accounts or false reports).
  • Nothing in the GRID rewards speeding or racing, and no score is worth chasing on a public road. We may remove scores earned by driving unsafely (section 2).

10 · Reports, moderation and ending accounts

  • You can report people, posts, messages and other content in the app, and block anyone. See Support for how.
  • We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, or that put people at risk. We try to be fair and to explain our decisions, but we're not obliged to host anything.
  • We keep reports even after an account is deleted, as the Privacy Policy explains. We may share information with the police when the law requires it or someone's safety is at risk.
  • You can stop using GIRO and delete your account at any time. We may also stop offering GIRO, or any part of it, with notice where we reasonably can.

11 · The shop

  • Shop items are made to order and shipped by our production partner (Printful) to Canada and the United States only.
  • Prices are in Canadian dollars. The total shown on Stripe's checkout page before you pay is the total you pay, including any shipping and tax. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see your card number.
  • Your order is accepted when payment goes through. If we can't fulfil it (for example, an item becomes unavailable), we'll refund you in full.
  • Because every item is made for you, we can't take returns for a change of mind or the wrong size, so check the size before you order. If your item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, email contact@drivegiro.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we'll replace it or refund you.
  • Shipping times are estimates. If a parcel is lost in transit, contact us and we'll sort it out.
  • "Founders'" and launch prices are real offers with a real end. When an offer ends, the regular price applies.
  • Nothing here takes away your rights under the consumer protection laws where you live.

12 · Giveaways

From time to time we may run giveaways or contests. Each one has its own official rules, published when it opens, saying who can enter, how, the dates, the prizes and how winners are picked. Those rules apply to that giveaway, and they win over these terms if the two differ. If no official rules have been published for something, it isn't a giveaway yet.

13 · Our app and other people's rights

  • GIRO, the GIRO name, logo and look, and the app's code belong to Evoris Group Inc. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app and website for their intended purpose under these terms. Please don't copy, resell or rebuild them.
  • Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, with map images by OpenFreeMap. Search and directions come from TomTom and Stadia Maps. Their own terms apply to their data.
  • If you think something on GIRO infringes your copyright or other rights, email contact@drivegiro.com with what it is, where it is, and why. We'll look at it and remove it if it does.
  • If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

14 · Testing versions

GIRO is in testing (alpha and beta builds, including through TestFlight and Google Play testing tracks). Testing versions may have bugs, lose data, change or remove features, or stop working. Data created while testing may be reset. Please tell us what breaks.

15 · Apple and Google

If you got GIRO from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Evoris Group Inc. only, not Apple or Google. We, not they, are responsible for the app, its content, support and maintenance, and any claims about it (including product liability, legal compliance and intellectual-property claims). Apple and Google have no obligation to support the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple or Google, who may refund its purchase price (if any), and they have no other warranty obligation for it. You must also follow the store's own terms. You confirm that you're not in a country under a Canadian or U.S. government embargo, and not on a government list of restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

16 · Disclaimers

We work hard on GIRO, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose. We aren't responsible for what users post or do, on GIRO or in the real world, including at meets, on drives or in convoys. Some places don't allow some of these disclaimers, so they may not all apply to you.

17 · Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • Evoris Group Inc. and its directors, staff and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, arising from GIRO.
  • We are not liable for any accident, injury, damage, ticket, fine or loss caused by how you or anyone else drives, or by relying on maps, directions, locations or hazard reports.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim about GIRO is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CA$100.

None of this limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for our own gross negligence, fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law forbids excluding it, or your rights as a consumer.

If you break these terms or the law while using GIRO, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses from it, to the extent the law allows.

18 · Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If there's a dispute, please email us first. Most things can be fixed that way. If not, the courts of Ontario will hear it, unless the consumer protection laws where you live give you the right to go to your local courts or keep the protection of your local laws. In that case you keep that right. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

19 · Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms as GIRO grows, and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using GIRO after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
